Demonstration plant-based textile dyeing
On Saturday, textile and clothing designer Suzanne Dikker will be at work all day in our makers lab. In collaboration with resident An.Nur, she will show how you can color textiles with food and food scraps. Did you for example know that avocado seeds can be used to create a beautiful pink color? Suzanne and An.nur show how you can dye textiles with the same ingredients that you cook with. The demonstration is made possible by SLA.
Tip: on Saturday at 13:00 An.nur and Suzanne will talk to Nanette Hogervorst of fashion platform Our World about their sustainable approach in our very first Fashion Talk. In our pop-up street, An.Nur hosts a showroom & shop, and Suzanne Dikker presents SUD, a continuous collection of unique products colored with natural pigments.
