Manusama Nuance
Mirjam Manusama is a conscious avant-garde fashion designer. With a background in art and fashion (Utrecht School of the Arts, Vrije School by Rudolf Steiner philosophy)
she developed a practice that combines high-end garments, healing drawings, spiritualism and craftsmanship with an aesthetically enticing and relevant approach.
Mirjam is renowned for her drapery and asymmetric costumes, designed for dance performers. This led her to her distinctive, ambiguous way of creating conceptual silhouettes, offering multiple perceptions, meanings and fits.
Every garment is designed and handmade by her in her atelier.
In 2017 Mirjam Manusama founded Atelier Manusama in Rotterdam. Her new label Manusama Nuance, that offers daring shells for introverts, was launched in 2020. Manusama Nuance will show at New York fashion week in 2021.
Mirjam thinks of fashion consciously, on all levels; aesthetically, ephemerally, production-wise and gender-wise.
